PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College volleyball team, ranked No. 4 in the NJCAA National poll, now has its second player recognized nationally for the 2014 season. First-year libero Meghan Chartier (Inverness, Ill./Buffalo Grove) has been named the NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 6-12.
In 19 sets played in that time frame, Chartier totaled 126 digs (6.63 digs/set), including a season-high 38 digs in a victory over John A. Logan College on Oct. 11. She was also 68-of-71 (95.8 percent) serving with five aces. Chartier was also named to the Lincoln Land Invitational All-Tournament Team, her fourth All-Tournament team in a row.
"Meghan is having a great year," said Harper head coach Bob Vilsoet. "She could be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week every week!"

Outside hitter Lauren Sokolowski (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) received player of the week honors from the NJCAA national office for the week of Sept. 1-7.
