Dwayne Cruz coached the women's soccer program at Harper College for 18 years from 2000 -2017. While at Harper, Cruz led the Hawks to the NJCAA DIII National Championship tournament three times, finishing in 5th (2002), 9th (2010), and 6th (2012).
 
In addition to leading Harper, Cruz served as the director of coaching and player development for club programs. From 1999 through 2004, he was the director of coaching and player development at Chicago United FC.  In 2004, Chicago United FC merged with the Elgin Kickers to form Kickers United and KUFC Premier, where Cruz stayed on as their director of coaching until 2009.
 
At the club level, Cruz has had plenty of success. In 2005, KUFC Premier won its first Illinois State Cup Championship for U-15 girls. The next year, KUFC Premier won its first US Club National Championship.  In 2007, they had two teams finish second in the US Club National Championships while the U-18 girls team win its second Illinois State Cup Championship. KUFC Premier U-19 girls finished second in the Illinois State Cup Championship in 2008. In his 20-plus years, Cruz and his staff have helped over 100 players advance to play in college.
