PALATINE, IL- The Harper College women's soccer team traveled to Glen Ellyn for an N4C matchup against the College of DuPage Chaparrals. The Hawks ended up winning the match 3-1.
Sophomore and reigning All-American
Julia Szylke ()Â got the scoring started with a goal in the 26' minute off an assist from
Lauren Talesky (). Szylke would cash in for a second time right before halftime with another goal, this time from
Morgan Ragusin (Elk Grove Village/Conant). Ragusin notched a goal of her own 10 minutes into the second half after a pass from
Daniela Herrera (Wheeling/Wheeling). The Chaparrals would respond with a goal of their own in the 59' minute, but that would be all the scoring for the remainder of the game.
Szylke's two goals follow up her hat trick from Monday, giving her 5 on the season.Â
Sydney Heinrich (Hoffman Estates/Fremd) had another strong performance in goal, totaling 3 saves and allowing the one COD goal.
The win moves the Hawks' record to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the N4C. The women's first home game of the year is scheduled for Friday at 4pm as the Hawks play host to the Trojans from Triton College.
