Nic Castrovillari (Hanover Park, IL/Bartlett High School) was an RBI machine on Thursday, driving in four on two hits to lead Harper College past Rockford University 16-6 on Thursday.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Harper College collected 15 hits and Rockford University had seven.

In the second inning, Harper College got their offense started when Castrovillari singled on a 1-2 count with two outs, scoring Michael Budorick (Glenview, IL/Glenbrook South).

Harper College pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning.  Castrovillari added another triple, one of 5 on the day, scoring three runs and then came around to score on a wild pitch.

The Hawk bats stayed hot as they put up five more runs in the fifth inning.  Justin Gadomski (Schaumburg, IL/Schaumburg High School), Justin Cappis (Chicago, IL/Niles North), and Kyle Odeshoo (Arlington Heights, Illinois/Prospect High School) all drove in runs in the frame.

After Rockford University scored three runs in the top of the sixth, Harper College answered with three of their own.  Kaleb Nelson (Sarnia, ON (CA)/Northern Collegiate) and Sean Holbrook (Niles, IL/Niles West High School) pushed across runs with bases loaded walks, and Quinton Johnston (Sarnia, ON (CA)/Great Lakes Secondary School) tripled on a 3-2 count to drive in another.

Joey Bisesi (Rolling Meadows, IL/Rolling Meadows) started on the mound for the Hawks. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, walking zero. Michael Del Genio (Buffalo Grove, IL/Wheeling High School) and Greg Jordan (St. Louis, MO/Pattonville High School) had successful first collegiate outings, combining for zero hits and five strikeouts in their two innings of work. Shawn Lacy (Champaign, IL/Centennial High School), Antonio DeBartolo (Arlington Heights, IL/Rolling Meadows High School), and Steven Byrne (Schaumburg, IL/Schaumburg High School) also contributed to the staff's success.
