Hawks MBB Earn First Win with Dominant Second Half

Palatine, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team claimed their first victory of the season in emphatic fashion, defeating the Daley Bulldogs 80-62 on Thursday night. The win marked the largest margin of victory under Head Coach LaMario Richards, showcasing a strong team effort and a relentless second-half performance.  

Trailing 31-29 at halftime, the Hawks surged ahead after the break, outscoring the Bulldogs 51-31 in the second half. Freshman guard Joe Calombo Kimbirima led the charge with a standout performance, pouring in 20 points, including 16 in the second half. Calombo Kimbirima was a force driving into the paint, scoring 16 points inside while attempting just one free throw. He also contributed on defense with six rebounds and five steals.  

The Hawks received additional offensive support from Connor Pritchard (14 points), Luke Sinisa (13 points, 11 rebounds), and Andre Anderson (12 points, 10 assists), with Sinisa and Anderson each recording double-doubles.  


With this win, the Hawks improved to 1-2 and will look to carry their momentum into their next game. They return to action on Saturday, November 16th, hosting Lake County at 3:00 PM.
