Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Hawks Women's Basketball is Back

Palatine, IL: The Harper Hawks women's basketball team kicked off their season with a determined effort in their home opener against the Olive-Harvey Panthers, marking a significant moment after not courting a team last season due to low participation. This year, the Hawks made an ambitious transition from NJCAA Division III to Division II, showcasing their commitment to growth and development in the sport.

Despite facing a tough opponent in the Panthers, the Hawks displayed remarkable tenacity and energy throughout the game. The players' commitment to each other was evident as they demonstrated phenomenal supportive behaviors on and off the court, cheering each other on and fostering a positive atmosphere. This camaraderie was crucial, especially for a team that has been rebuilding.

A standout performer was
Meghan Ewanio, who brought her competitive spirit from the soccer field to the basketball court. Having served as the starting goalkeeper for the Hawks' soccer team over the past two seasons, Ewanio's athleticism and leadership shone through, making her an integral part of the squad.

Overall, while the Hawks faced challenges against a formidable opponent, their hard work, teamwork, and unyielding energy were key takeaways from the season opener, setting a strong foundation for the games to come.

The Hawks will play next tomorrow at home against Truman at 5:00 PM.
