Hawks Lose Home Opener to ECC

Palatine, IL: The Hawks opened their season at home on Thursday afternoon against Elgin Community College falling 3-10.

Kaleb Nelson singled in the second inning scoring Luke Read to give the Hawks an early 1-0 lead. 

Ethan Dorka surrendered a solo homer in the third to even the score.

In the sixth, Kyle Odeshoo homered to score Tommy Jusi to put the Hawks up 3-1. ECC rallied in the seventh to score six runs to put the game away though.

Dorka started and pitched six quality innings striking out seven and giving up two runs. Antonio DeBartolo came in for relief and took the loss for the Hawks.
