Men's Soccer Extends Winning Streak to 3

Palatine, IL: The Men's Soccer team has won three straight games with recent wins against Lake County (2-4) on Saturday (9/21) and Black Hawk (3-3-2) yesterday (9/26). 

9/21 @ Lake County, Win 3-1
The Hawks scored early on an
Anthony Caldera assist to Ukyo Takahashi in the 13th minute.

The Hawks finished the game strongly in the last 15 minutes as
Stefan Kokovic scored on an assist from Miguel Pena in the 75th minute and Ethan Knapp scored 5 minutes later on another Caldera assist.

Bogdan Simovic finished with 10 saves.

9/26 @ Black Hawk, Win 2-0
The Hawks scored early again in the 18th minute against Black Hawk as
Kokovic scored his fourth goal of the season on a Takahashi assist. Takahashi has six assists on the season now.

The Hawks scored again in the second half on a
Pena assist to Andrija Savic.


The Hawks are off to a 5-2-1 start as they head into October to continue their fight to make a playoff run in their first season in DII. With seven games left, the Hawks face some strong competition.

The Hawks face off against Region IV foe Illinois Valley on Wednesday in Oglesby. Over the weekend they will host Region XVI St. Charles (6-2-2), one of two remaining non-region match-ups.

Next week the Hawks host UW-Whitewater at Rock County (5-4-2) on Tuesday the 8th. Later in the week the Hawks face off against nationally ranked Region IV opponent Prairie State (12th, 7-3-2) in Chicago Heights on Friday and Region IV opponent Elgin (8-3-2) at home on Saturday. 
Elgin was ranked 20th as well in weeks two and three.

The Hawks finish their season against Region IV opponents Madison (4-2-1) on the 22nd, who are right behind the Hawks in the region standings, and nationally ranked Region IV Rock Valley (20th, 5-2-3)  on the 25th.


With a strong finish to the season, the Hawks can solidify national recognition and create some waves in their first season moving up to NJCAA DII. Come support this Saturday!
