Hawks Fall to Stormers Despite Halftime Lead

Palatine, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team couldn't hold onto their halftime lead, falling to the MATC Stormers 77-71 on Thursday. The Hawks led 31-25 at the break but were undone by turnovers and second-chance points in the second half.  

Amari Northcutt led the Hawks with 22 points, while three other players scored in double figures. Joe Calombo Kimbirima finished with 14 points, Luke Sinisa added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Sean Spencer contributed 10 points and seven boards. Northcutt and Daniel Tewogbade were active on defense, each recording three steals.  

Despite shooting a higher percentage from the field than the Stormers, the Hawks struggled with ball security, committing 22 turnovers. MATC capitalized on extra opportunities, grabbing 15 offensive rebounds to fuel their second-half surge.  

The Hawks will play next against the Highland Cougars on Saturday.
