Hawks WBB Battle Hard Against WolfPack

Palatine, IL: The Hawks women's basketball team put up a spirited fight but ultimately fell to the Madison WolfPack, 72-62, in a competitive matchup.  

The WolfPack set the tone early, dominating the first quarter with high energy and efficient play going up 10. However, the Hawks rallied in the second quarter, matching Madison's intensity and slightly narrowing the deficit. Despite their efforts, the Hawks entered halftime trailing 39-28.  

In the second half, Harper continued to battle making a strong push in the fourth quarter, outscoring the WolfPack in the final frame. Unfortunately, the comeback effort came too late, as Madison's early lead proved insurmountable.

The Hawks were led by standout performances from their key players. Meghan Ewanio delivered a phenomenal game, leading all scorers with 25 points. She shot 9-of-17 from the field, including three triples, while also pulling down seven rebounds. Xzandria Turner chipped in with 14 points, showcasing their scoring ability, while Gabriella Swanson recorded an impressive double-double, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

With this result, the Harper Hawks will look to regroup and build on the positives from this game as they prepare for their next challenge. Despite the loss, the team's resilience and standout individual performances give them plenty to be optimistic about moving forward.
