Peeples Scores 19 Against Trojans

River Grove, IL: The Hawks men's basketball team battled hard in an away matchup at NJCAA Division I opponent Triton College on November 20 but came up short in an 87-66 loss. Despite trailing throughout much of the game, the Hawks played with energy and competed against a strong Triton lineup.

Harper was paced offensively by Rashad Peeples, who scored 19 points on 7-of-18 shooting including four made three-pointers. Kevin Edgecombe was another key contributor with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and 6-of-8 from the free throw line, continuing to show his ability to score inside and around the rim. Oscar Engfors added nine points on solid efficiency in limited minutes, and Vanja Mrduljas chipped in six points as Harper sought to keep pace. Marin Mrduljas scored five points, and Darrion Pippen added five points with effort on both ends.

Triton built a lead early and maintained it throughout, out shooting the Hawks from the field and from beyond the arc. Harper fought to make timely offensive plays, connecting on six three-pointers overall and converting 12 of 17 attempts at the free throw line. Ball security and rebounding were challenges, as Triton's experience and depth helped them control key stretches in both halves.
