LoBue & Nakhim Lead Hawks at Firebird Finale

Kenosha, WI: The Hawks wrapped up their indoor season at the Firebird Finale at Carthage on Friday with strong performances across the board. Leading the way was Anthony LoBue, who met the national qualifying standard in the 400m with a time of 51.94. His time not only secured his spot at nationals but also earned him the 6th best indoor 400m performance in Hawks history. Vladyslav Nakhim also hit the national qualifying mark in the shot put, recording a throw of 38' 5".

A solid number of Hawks set personal bests in various events. Ivan Rodriguez (6.78), Devin Patel (6.98), and Tyler Anderson (6.98) blazed through the 55m, while Prince Ellington (23.95), Nicholas Navarrete (24.43), and Seth Cohen (25.94) powered through the 200m. In the 800m, Dakota White posted a time of 2:02.22, followed by Jason Schmidt at 2:04.78 and Nate Larsen at 2:09.92. Owen Whelan (4:30.29) and Ryan Golden (4:34.69) set personal records in the mile, and Jerome Graessle finished the 3k in 9:29.68. The 55m hurdles saw Ellington (7.93) and Tyler Thymian (8.52) notch personal bests, while Lucas McMillan cleared 13' 3.75" in the pole vault. Cohen also tied his personal best in the long jump with a mark of 20' 3.75".

In addition to those who set personal records, Alek Ledezma, Gianluca Manuel, Jaylen Calhoun, Andrew Rashad, Fortis Variano, Justin Brown, Connor Ariunbat, Edwin Amaro, Stephen Osei, and Rodolfo Martinez all contributed valuable experience for the Hawks.

With the indoor season now behind them, the Hawks will have a three-week break before beginning their outdoor season at North Central on March 28th.
