Hawks Split Road Doubleheader with Wolves

Joliet, IL: The Hawks picked up another thrilling win on Tuesday afternoon, outlasting the Joliet Wolves 14-13 in game one before falling 16-3 in game two. The split brings the Hawks to 5-19 on the season as they continue to build momentum heading into their last four series.

In game one,
Taylor Nicholson earned her third win of the year in a hard-fought battle. The Hawks' offense exploded for 20 hits, powering them to a 14-13 victory despite a late four-run push from Joliet in the bottom of the seventh. Samantha Sok led the charge with three hits, four RBIs, a double, and a stolen base. Nicholson added three hits and three RBIs of her own. Isabella Kmilek also tallied three hits—including a triple—and drove in one while stealing a base. Gabriella Phillis contributed with a double and two RBIs, and Brianna Linnemann added three singles and two RBIs to help lift the Hawks to a wild win.

In the second game, the Wolves bounced back quickly.
Meghan Meyer started in the circle, with Sammy Pracko coming in for relief, but Joliet's bats proved too strong in a five-inning contest. Offensively, Phillis stayed hot with another double, the Hawks' lone extra-base hit of the game. Sok, Nicholson, and Phillis each drove in a run in the effort.

The Hawks now look ahead to their next matchup on Friday, when they return home to take on the Kankakee Cavaliers.
