Hawks Fly Under the Lights at Elmhurst Twilight

Elmhurst, IL: The Hawks continued their strong outdoor campaign at the Elmhurst Twilight Invitational, with standout performances across the board and several near-season bests.

Ivan Rodriguez clocked a personal best 11.05 in the 100m, leading five Hawks including Tyler Anderson (11.70), Gianluca Manuel (11.73), Devin Patel (11.77), and Connor Naskrent (11.80). Rodriguez did not race the 200m, but Manuel (23.87), Naskrent (23.89), and Anderson (24.47) all competed.

In the 400m, Fortis Variano (50.49), Anthony LoBue (50.57), and Lucas McMillan (51.22) all continued their consistent seasons.

Dakota White broke 2:00 again in the 800m (1:59.00), with Jason Schmidt (2:02.74) and Nate Larsen (2:07.79) close behind.

Connor Ariunbat ran 4:21.82 in the 1500m, while RJ Moniri clocked 4:41.81.

In the 3k, Owen Whelan (8:59.58), Ryan Golden (9:03.37), and Jose Morales (9:13.69) packed together strongly. Jerome Graessle was the lone 5k runner, finishing in 16:34.48.

Prince Ellington ran a season-best 15.30 in the 110m hurdles, with Tyler Thymian also strong at 16.62. In the 400m hurdles, Nicholas Navarrete led with 61.88, followed by Joel Jones (63.85) and Justin Brown (64.04).

Michael Johnson debuted with a solid 10:54.21, while Edwin Amaro completed his first steeplechase in 12:10.98.

Stephen Osei cleared 12' 10.25" in the pole vault. In long jump, Jaylen Calhoun (19' 11"), Seth Cohen (19' 9.5"), Ellington (19' 7"), and Shamar Allwood (18' 9") all competed. Allwood also hit a season-best 40' 7.5" in triple jump.

Vladyslav Nakhim threw in three events—127' 9" in javelin, 100' 5" in discus, and 82' 11" in hammer. Rodolfo Martinez threw 103' 6" in hammer for a new season best.
