Hawks Keep Rolling with More PRs at Walt Cramer Invitational

Bourbonnais, IL: The Hawks men's track and field team continued its early-season momentum at the Walt Cramer Invitational, held at the Perry Center in Bourbonnais and hosted by Olivet Nazarene University on February 6th. The Hawks posted another productive outing highlighted by multiple personal records, additions to the program's all-time list, and consistent performances across all event groups.

In the throws,
Jake Cody led the way with a personal best in the shot put, a mark that now ranks sixth on Harper's Indoor Top 10 list. He was joined by Vladyslav Nakhim and Joaquin Aguilar, who both turned in strong performances, with Aguilar setting personal bests in both the shot put and weight throw.

On the track, the Hawks' sprinters continued to shine.
Dominic Giuseffi remained the team's top performer, clocking sub-7-second efforts twice in the 60m and dipping under 23 seconds again in the 200m, maintaining his early-season consistency. Ryan Cipra notched a personal best in the 60m and also raced in the 200m, while Joey Okulanis recorded personal bests in both the 400m and 200m. Nicholas Navarrete joined him in both events, and Fernando Velasquez ran a PR in the 400m as well, rounding out a strong day for the sprint group.

The mid-distance and distance squad continued to show steady progress.
Ethan Waddell competed in the 800m, while the mile saw four Hawks achieve indoor personal bests—Ryan Golden, Sebastian Welc, Michael Johnson, and Sean Burke. Golden's time of 4:30.56 earned him the seventh spot on Harper's All-Time Indoor Top 10 list. Zach Sheehan and RJ Moniri also competed in the mile, with Jerome Graessle representing Harper in the 3k.

In the jumping events,
Cipra and Anthony Pupillo competed in the long jump, while Stephen Osei and Stefanos Nomikoudis both had standout days in the pole vault. Osei cleared a new collegiate indoor best, and Nomikoudis established a new indoor personal record, contributing to the Hawks' growing list of season highlights.

With the roster continuing to build momentum across all events, the Hawks will look to carry their progress into their next meet at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships, hosted by North Central College on February 14th.
