Coach Dan Loprieno was named to the NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame for his coaching success.
2009-2010 Award Winners
9 wrestlers qualified for the National Championship, with Josh Kratovil winning an individual title and 8 wrestlers earning All-American honors. In addition, 7 wrestlers were named to the National Junior College Wrestling Coaches Association’s Academic Wrestling Team (including Elizabeth Brusa, the first woman to wrestle for Harper College). Coach Loprieno would add to his illustrious coaching career by being inducted into the NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame. The team’s accomplishments were recognized by the reading of a proclamation on the floor of the Illinois Capital building, and by Dr. Ender at a Harper Board of Directors meeting in May.
2008-2009 Award Winners
The Harper Men's Wrestling Team earned 4th place in the Midwest District Meet at Triton College. Led by 1st place Winner PJ Starnes in the 157 wt. class, the Hawks sent 7 wrestlers to Nationals in Rochester Minnesota. The team placed fifth at Nationals and Starnes was named All-American
2007-2008 Award Winners
His season prepared his wrestlers to win at tournament time. Eight wrestlers qualified for Nationals. This team produced four All-Americans: Mike Dace – 165, Darius Williams – 174, Shea Geradot – 184, Alex Delonis – 285, and 2nd Place in the National Tournament.
2006-2007 Award Winners
Seven wrestlers earned All-American status: Mike Ryan, Jordan McCabe, Dallas Hesseltine, Justin Milos, Jesse Linczmaier, Dominic Willis, Jon Bentch.
Wrestling Coach Dan Loprieno was named Region Coach of the Year.
2005-2006 Award Winners
The team had 10 national qualifiers: Scott Kruk, Adam O’Neil, Andy McArthur, Jordan McCabe, Dallas Hesseltine, Jesse Hesseltine, David Gleissner, David Benner, Craig Tokarski, Sean Evans. We had eight All Americans: Andy McArthur-3rd, Scott Kruk-5th, Jordan McCabe-8th, Dallas Hesseltine-2nd, Adam O’Neil-3rd, Jesse Linczmaier-7th, David Gleissner-3rd, David Benner-2nd. Dan Loprieno was named District Coach of the Year. Adam O’Neil was named the District Most Valuable Wrestler.
2004-2005 Award Winners
The team had 9 national qualifiers: Denis Kakrah, Scott Kruk, Marcus Cobbs, Sam Masino, Tom Willming, Mitch Casto, Adam O’Neil, Patrick Rigdon, and Marino Eatman. We had five All Americans: Kakrah, 8th @125; Cobbs, 4th @ 141; Casto, 5th @ 165; O’Neil, 7th @ 174; Rigdon, 3rd @ 197; and Eatman, 2nd @ 285.

Mike Rio-149-National Champion! Regional Champions: Mike Rio, Chino Duran, David Martin III, Nick Walker. Dan Loprieno-Midwest Coach of the Year.
2002-2003 Award Winners
It was the fourth straight top-five national finish for the Hawks, who were national champions in 2001 and 1994. Mike Rio was a national runner-up in his weight category, and he and Alex Hernandez, Brandon Harwell, Bobby Howard, and Danny Perez earned All-American honors for finishing in the top eight in their weight divisions. Dan Loprieno was named Region IV Coach of the Year.

Adam Sesso (Schaumburg), Alex Hernandez and Andrew Bradbury were all named All-Americans for their top 8 finishes nationally.
