Dianne Barajas

Coach Dianne Barajas is entering her fifth season with the Hawks since she joined the Harper coaching staff in the fall of 2021. She was a volunteer coach for both the men and women's cross country program up until 2025, when she became an official assistant coach of the cross country program. She has also been a volunteer coach in track & field since in 2022.

In cross country, Barajas has helped the Hawks win three national championships (two women, one men). She has coached 18 NJCAA DIII All-Americans (10 men, 8 women) and has coached three women into the Hawks All-Time Top 5k Times top 10. This includes school record holder and national champion Lilly Alberts as well as second of all-time and national runner-up Isabella Wojciechowski. 

In track and field, Barajas has helped the Hawks win two national championships, both for the women. For the women, this includes school record holder and national champion Lilly Alberts as well as national champions Isabella Wojciechowski and Fiona Metzo.


Before coaching for Harper, she had a successful collegiate career for Harper and then later North Central College.

Before Harper
Barajas graduated from Schaumburg High School in 2015. She competed in cross country and track & field for the Saxons. She then enrolled at Harper and was on the Hawks' cross country and track & field teams. She was a member of the 2015 Runner-Up and 2016 National Champion cross country teams. Her track & field teams came in third place and second place. She set the Harper 1500m record in 2017 with a time of 4:42.15. After Harper, she transferred to North Central College where she competed for two seasons. In 2018 she was Academic All-CCIW and USTFCCCA All-Academic. In 2019 she was Academic All-CCIW again.
