Sara joins the Harper softball staff for her first season after a standout career at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Kern, a 2013 Wheeling High School graduate, will be helping the Hawks with hitting and outfield defense this season.
During her four years at UMSL, the Tritons went 192-40 and reached the NCAA tournament all four seasons. Those teams also crowd the Triton record book for most wins, most conference wins, and longest winning streaks.
Kern was a huge part of the Tritons' success as she started in 175 games and is also in the record book due to her bat. Her 13 homeruns in 2016 tied her for 7th all time on the UMSL leaderboard while her 23 career homeruns are good for 8th all time.
