This is Marielle Lugo's sixth season as a Harper assistant. Marielle was an assistant coach previously in 2018-2023.
In 2019 and 2023, she helped the Hawks make an NJCAA National Championship appearance with sixth and ninth place finishes.
Lugo played on the 2016 Harper Hawks NJCAA National Championship team and the 2017 Harper College NJCAA National Runner-up team (lost to Eastfield in the championship match). Marielle was the starting outside hitter both years. In 2 years, she logged 240 sets played and had 403 kills on 1332 attack attempts.
Lugo went through the Harper College Nursing program and is currently a Registered Nurse, helping people, as usual. She completed graduate school at Elmhurst University and is now a nursing professor there as well.
Lugo coached 7 years at Dynamic Impact Volleyball Club (DIVC) and is currently coaching 18U at 1st Alliance VBC.
