Tyler Block

Coach Tyler Block joined the Harper coaching staff in the fall of 2021. He focuses on horizontal jumps (long and triple), sprints, and relays. In his first season as an assistant, the women went on to win the 2022 National Championship. The women's 1600m record was also broken in 2023. In just two seasons, he has 36 NJCAA/USTFCCCA DIII All-American nominations in the horizontal jumps, sprints, and relays, with 16 being women and 20 men.

Coach Block graduated from Conant High School in 2014 where he competed in soccer and track & field for the Cougars all 4 years. He competed for the Hawks 2015 (National Runner-Ups)/2016 (3rd place nationally) track and field teams and 2015/2016 soccer teams before transferring to Illinois State University. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Information Systems in 2019 and participated on the ISU XC and Track & Field club teams. He is Senior Associate in Cybersecurity at Discover.
