Vlad Gacanovic returns in 2025 as the men's head soccer coach. Gacanovic started coaching at Harper College as an women's assistant coach to
Chip Lemberg in 2022.

In the summer of 2023, he was named the head coach of the men’s soccer program. During his first season as head coach, he was able to guide the men to the NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament. He was named the NJCAA DIII Region 4 Coach of the Year and NJCAA DIII Midwest District Coach of the Year as the Hawks were Region 4 and Midwest District champions. They won the national tournament Sportsmanship Award and finished 8th nationally. They also had four Region 4 All-Region men.

As an assistant for the women in 2022 and 2023, Gacanovic helped guide the Hawks to Region 4 Runners-Up finishes both seasons as well as a Midwest District Runners-Up finish in 2022. In those two seasons, the Hawks had 11 Region 4 All-Region women.

Gacanovic also holds a USSF coaching license.

Before Harper
Gacanovic has spent his whole life around the game of soccer. He started the sport at the age of five playing for the likes of
Chicago Wind Soccer Club, FC United, & Chicago Magic Academy at the youth club level. In high school he played all four years at Maine South & later attended Carthage College where he spent one season with the Firebirds.
