Jordan Wagner (Schaumburg, Ill., Schaumburg) was one of two girls from the Harper College women's cross country team competing at nationals over the weekend and she represented the Hawks well with a fifth place finish.

Wagner earned First Team All-America honors with her time of 21:00.  She entered the final leg of the 5K race even with Hannah Cook of Lorain County and Nieemah Powers of Gloucester County, and Wagner out-kicked Powers by a second to make the First Team.

“She ran a smart race,” Macnider said.  “She was strong in the back of the lead group.  She kept moving up and battled.”

Gabby Beaupre also ran for the Hawks and placed 73rd, completing the race in 25:29.
