Box Score PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College men's soccer team is still searching for their first win after a 3-0 defeat to Triton College on Wednesday afternoon.

The first half was a pretty quiet one for the home team as their only real opportunity came in the 35th minute when Daniel Hoffman (Prospect) broke through the box and fired a shot on goal which the Triton keeper needed to lay out to stop the ball.  Hoffman added a shot on goal in the 71st minute.

Triton tallied two early goals to jump ahead quickly.  The first Trojan score came in the 9th minute and they proceeded to add to their lead in the 16th minute.

Harper (0-4, 0-2 N4C) nearly got on the scoreboard in the 55th minute.  After a Triton foul, the Hawks had a free kick and Jacob Velinski (Palatine, Ill., Palatine) quickly lined up and drilled a ball that hit the crossbar.

The Trojans increased their lead in the 64th minute as goalkeeper Sean Cox (Schaumburg, Ill., Conant) stopped the first shot but was pulled out of position for the follow-up attempt, making it 3-0.  Cox made nice plays on the ball in the 21st, 27th, 52nd, 74th and 79th minutes.

Hoffman had four shots on goal in the second half and five for the game.  Omer Aboalukul (Tampa, Fla., Tampa) had a header off a corner kick that the Triton keeper deflected with ten seconds left in the match.

Up next, Harper continues with the N4C portion of their slate as the Hawks will host Madison College on Friday.  Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
