Hawks Compete at Benedictine Eagle Invitational

WARRENVILLE, Ill. – The Harper College women's cross country team put together another solid showing at the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational on Friday, finishing second among junior colleges at the meet. Overall, the Hawks placed tenth as a team (315 points), behind only ninth place Waubonsee Community College (284 points).

Marisa Andreuccetti (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Conant) led the charge for Harper, placing 60th overall in a time of 25:17.01 on the 6K course at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve. Silvia Catalan (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) was not far behind with a 63rd place finish in a time of 25:22.09.

Maria Barajas (/Schaumburg) took 100th place overall for the Hawks, crossing the finish line in 26:30.42. Cynthia Siddiqui (/Palatine) (136th place-28:27.73) and Taylor LoCoco (/Prairie Ridge) (152nd place-29:38.82) rounded out the top-five for Harper.

North Central College captured top team honors with 21 points, followed by Aurora University (43 points) and Beloit College (93 points).

The women's team runs next at the Bradley Classic on Friday, Oct. 17 at 3 PM.
