Hawks Shut Out by Chiefs, 2-0

PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College men's soccer team was shut out by Waubonsee Community College on a cold Saturday morning at Harper, 2-0.

The Chiefs (6-4-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead 20 minutes into the game as midfielder Josue Mejia scored an unassisted goal on Harper (4-5-2) goalkeeper Chase Berko (/Hoffman Estates). In the 35th minute, midfielder Rodrigo Bernal took a pass from Alexis Deltoro and scored his first goal of the season.

The Hawks were outshot 11-9 in the game and managed five shots on goal, including two from forward Freddy Delfin (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling).

Harper is back on the pitch Wednesday at 4 PM as they host Rock Valley College (5-7-1, 4-4-1 N4C). The two teams played to a scoreless draw back on Sept. 19 in Rockford.
