PALATINE, Ill. – After scoring only three goals in their previous five games, the Harper men's soccer team broke out in a big way on Wednesday afternoon at Milwaukee Area Technical College. The Hawks netted five goals on their way to a 5-0 victory over the Stormers.

Alex Freeman (/St. Viator) gave Harper (3-3-2, 2-3-1 N4C) the early lead in the 12th minute with an unassisted goal. The freshman scored in the 23rd minute on a throw in from Connor Reynolds (Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) to make it a 2-0 game. Goalkeeper Irvin Velazquez (/Hersey) made a pair of saves in the first half to keep Milwaukee (0-7, 0-5 N4C) off the board.

David Bahena (/Elk Grove) was an offensive force early in the second half for the Hawks. His goals in the 52nd and 60th minutes pushed the lead to 4-0. Matt Kitsis (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) picked up the assist on Bahena's first goal. Juan Hernandez (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling) capped off the scoring with a free kick goal in the 70th minute.

Velazquez totaled four saves in goal and earned the win.

Harper returns to the pitch on Friday afternoon on the road at Joliet Junior College (5-4-1, 4-1-1 N4C) for a 4 PM game.
