Hawks Shut Out at DuPage

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – The Harper College women's soccer team failed to generate much offense in Wednesday afternoon's match at N4C foe College of DuPage. The end result was a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Chaparrals, who stayed unbeaten in the conference with the win.

DuPage (8-5, 6-0 N4C) midfielder Melissa Philips scored the only goals of the game, her 14th and 15th of the season. Kaitlyn Fehrman and Ashley Falco assisted on her first goal in the fourth minute, and she scored the second goal unassisted in the 27th minute.

Harper (5-6, 3-3 N4C) managed just six shots in the game compared to 24 for the Chaparrals. Kristen Serviss (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) led the Hawks with three shots on goal. Goalkeeper Sonia Valencia (Wheeling, Ill/Wheeling) made 12 saves in the match. DuPage goalkeepers Kylie Paul and Meghan Diddia combined on the shutout.

The Hawks have some time to rest up before they play their next match.  Harper plays next on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 4 PM at home against Rock Valley College.
