Box Score GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – The Harper College women's soccer team saw its 2015 season end with a 4-1 defeat at College of DuPage in the Region IV Championship on Wednesday afternoon.
College of DuPage (15-5-1) advances to the District Championship in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3 PM against Anoka-Ramsey Community College (7-6-1).
Despite playing well in the first half, the Hawks (10-8) trailed 1-0 at intermission. Chaparral striker Ashley Falco got a ball past Harper goalkeeper Sonia Valencia (Wheeling, Ill/Wheeling) in the 36th minute to give DuPage the lead.
Early in the second half, Hawks standout forward Kassidy Kushner (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) scored what appeared to be a game-tying goal, but she was flagged for being offside. Shortly after, Alexis Espositista-Aliga took a feed Falco and Miyax Leon and found the back of the net to give DuPage a 2-0 edge.
Just under three minutes later, top Chaparral goal scorer Kaitlyn Fehrman scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute. In the 62nd, Fehrman struck again with her 19th goal of the year on some beautiful passing from Espositista-Aliga and Antoinette Zaffino to give the hosts a 4-0 lead.
Harper's Diana Uihlein (Chelsea, Mich./Model Secondary School for the Deaf) scored the team's lone goal in the 87th minute. Kristen Serviss (Huntley, Ill./Huntley) led Harper with three shots. The Chaparrals outshot the Hawks 14-7 for the game.
Notes: The Hawks scored 60 goals in 18 games (3.33/game) this season … Kassidy Kushner (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) led the team with 21 goals … Danielle Reptowski (Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumburg) was second on the team with 18 goals … Reptowski was tops on the team with nine assists while Kushner was second with eight.
