Box Score PALATINE, Ill. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Harper College men's soccer team, having recently clinched the N4C conference title, took a breather from conference play with a matchup against the Aurora University JV. While the two teams produced some scoring opportunities, the game ultimately ended in a 0-0 draw.
For Harper (7-3-3), 21 players saw action in the game. The Hawks outshot the Spartans 8-1 in the first half. Aurora employed a different goalkeeper in each half. Arcadio Dominguez manned the net in the first half, making five saves. Alex Guillen played goalie in the second half and made four stops Hawks goalkeeper Jacob Goldstein (Buffalo Grove, Ill. /Stevenson ) (6-2-3) was rarely tested in the game as he made only one save. Aurora defender Fabian Acosta recorded the only shot on goal.
The Hawks had a few chances in the second stanza, including a prime chance by Niko Mihalopoulos (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Huntley) on a beautiful ball from Matt Kitsis (Huntley, Ill./Huntley). Guillen, however, was up to the task and kept the game scoreless.
Mihalpoulos led Harper with two shots on goal. Kitsis, Alex Ramirez (Carpentersville, Ill./Dundee-Crown), Raul Alcala (/Schaumburg), Amir Dajani (Huntley, Ill./Huntley), Colin O'Meara (Palatine, Ill/Palatine), Tyler Block (/Conant) and Demarcus Woods (/Batavia) all put shots on goal in the match.
The Hawks return to the pitch on Friday afternoon at 4 PM at Prairie State College (7-5-1).
