Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Harper College men's soccer team was victorious over Milwaukee Area Technical College on Wednesday afternoon, 5-1. Five different players scored goals in the win.
The Hawks (4-1-2, 4-0-1 N4C) got first half goals from Alex Ramirez (Carpentersville, Ill./Dundee-Crown) and Jakub Gonda (/Schaumburg). Both goals were each player's first of the season. Juan Hernandez (Wheeling, Ill./Wheeling) and Angel Sarti (/Hoffman Estates) assisted on the goals, which came in the 15th and 35th minutes. Harper led the Stormers (0-6, 0-5 N4C) 2-0 at halftime.
The Hawks stretched the lead to 3-0 as Angel Sarti (/Hoffman Estates) scored on a penalty kick in the 57th minute. Milwaukee scored its lone goal of the game less than two minutes later as Jacob West found Sebastian Avila for a goal.
Harper put the game out of reach with two more goals in the second half. Hernandez scored on an assist from Julian Chavez (Schaumburg, Ill. /Schaumburg), and Tafara Musiwa (Zimbabwe/St. Xavier) scored the final Hawks goal in the 81st minute on a feed from Matt Kitsis (Huntley, Ill./Huntley).
Harper outshot Milwaukee, 25-7, in the game. Jacob Goldstein (Buffalo Grove, Ill. /Stevenson ) (3-1-2) made four saves in goal and picked up the victory. The Stormers used three goalkeepers, and Francisco Campechano was credited with the loss.
Up next for the Hawks is a nonconference match at Waubonsee Community College on Saturday at noon.
