Palatine, Ill- It didn't take long for the Harper College women's soccer team to get on the board Wednesday afternoon. A goal three minutes into the match by Hawks forward, Christina Kim, started the day's scoring and led the Hawks (6-3-1, 4-3-1 N4C) to an 11-2 rout of visiting Illinois Valley Community College (1-11).
Just three minutes after her first goal, Kim found the back of the net again. A late addition to the Hawks roster, Kim has shared valuable time at both forward and keeper. Harper would tally another goal before the 10-minute mark when Heily Morales finished putting the Hawks up 3-0.
The Hawks would have to wait 22 minutes to get on the board again, but would add five more goals in a 26-minute stretch after the drought. In that span, four different Harper players scored a goal including,
Courtney Russ (/Lake Zurich),
Alyciah Gutierrez (/Depaul College Prep) (two goals),
Julia Morales (/Schaumburg), and Julie Garcia.
Illinois Valley Community College scored in the 61
st minute to cut Harper's lead to 8-1. Just a minute later, Alexi Orozco would score for the Hawks, and then again two minutes after that. Concluding the scoring for the Hawks was
