Box Score PALATINE, IL-Â The Harper College men's soccer team hosted the Trojans of Triton College on Wednesday, but fell 5-1.
First half action began with a defensive showdown between both sides.Â
Christian Hyde (/Conant) did not let his guard down as he ended the first half with 5 saves against the strong Trojan offense. The Hawks struggled on the offensive side of the ball as they only finished the half with four shots against Triton's 10.
The game remained scoreless at the end of the first half but all that changed in the second half. Less than a minute into the second half, Triton's Julio Aldape put the Trojans on top. The Trojans continued with the attack by scoring two more goals in a span of four minutes. In the 58th minute, Aldape scored his second goal of the match to make the score 4-0.Â
Pedro Botello () put the Hawks on the board with a goal in the 62nd minute as the Hawks looked to make a late game comeback. However, the Trojans put an end to that with their fifth goal of the match in the 88th minute.
Despite the loss, the Hawks clinched a playoff spot and finished the regular season 8-6-1 (5-5-1 N4C). The Hawks will host the Regional Quarterfinals match on Saturday, October 14.
