Box Score PALATINE, IL- The Harper College women's soccer team hosted the Spartans of Elgin Community College and finished the day with a 16-0 win.
From the beginning of the first half, the Hawks were in attack mode.Â
Julia Szylke () led the way with four goals in the first half while
Christina Kim () added another three of her own. The third of the Hawks' multi-goal scorers was
Julia Morales (/Schaumburg), who scored two in the first 7 minutes of the match. Also contributing to the score were
Alexis Orozco (/Schaumburg),
Leslie Ocampo (), and
Lauren Talesky () who all finished with a goal each. The Hawks ended the first half with 33 shots and led 12-0.
Szylke continued her offensive outurst with another two goals in the second half, giving her six on the day.Â
Salma Cambrioni () scored in the 65th and
Katelyn Heiden (/Huntley) notched another in the 72nd minute. The Hawks defense was equally as impressive as the offense, allowing only two shots on goal in the entire match. Goalkeeper Jasmine Carillo finished the shutout with 2 saves.
With the victory, the Hawks ended the season at 11-6 overall and 7-5 in conference. Being the only N4C team to play yesterday was advantageous for the Hawks as they were able to jump up to a #3 seed in the regional and will play host to Triton College. The Region IV Quarter Final match will begin at 3pm at Harper.
