Box Score PALATINE, IL-Â The Harper College men's soccer team opened up N4C play on Wednesday with a tough 6-1 loss against Triton College.
The Trojans got their revenge after they were eliminated by the Hawks in the Region IV semifinals last year. Staying true to their latest success, Harper got off to a quick start and an early lead. In the 8th minute,
Cesar Velazquez () put the Hawks ahead 1-0 after a pass from
Raphael de Souza () created the breakaway chance. Over the past three games, Harper has scored 5 total goals within the first 20 minutes of the match.
Strong defense and several big saves from goalkeeper
Christian Hyde (/Conant) kept Harper in control until the start of the second half. However, the Trojans attack found a way to create chances, scoring six unanswered goals from the 55th until the 78th minute. The score would remain 6-1 the rest of the way, ending the Hawks two game winning streak.
Up next for the Hawks (2-2, 0-1 N4C) will be another N4C matchup against the Rock Valley Golden Eagles on September 8. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 pm.
