Box Score PALATINE, IL-  The Harper College men's soccer team defeated the Illinois Valley Community College Eagles 2-0 on Monday in Oglesby.

As has been the case for much of the season, the Hawks applied pressure from the opening whistle and turned it into an early goal.  In the third minute, midfielder Yuriy Kopytko () was able to create a scoring opportunity by creating a deflection into the box that forward Pedro Botello () was able to finish with a header by the Eagles' keeper.  The score would remain 1-0 in the Hawks' favor until early in the second half.  In the 50th minute, Illinois Valley won a throw in that bounced right to Botello, who used a good left foot to sneak it past the goalie into the near post.

Sophomore goalkeeper Christian Hyde (/Conant) had 3 saves in his second consecutive shutout.  The Hawks tallied 18 shots in the contest, putting 8 on frame.

With the win, the Hawks move to 3-2-1 (0-1-1 N4C) on the season.  Next up is an N4C matchup against the Madison College WolfPack in Madison, WI.  Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm.
