Box Score PALATINE, IL-Â The Harper College women's soccer team saw an offensive outburst on Monday, defeated the MATC Stormers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 13-1.
The Hawks got the scoring started early as
Julia Szylke () scored her first of
seven goals in the second minute of the match. Szylke then extended the lead, taking a pass from
Abigail Aguilar () and finshing for goal number two in the 20th minute. Aguilar got in on the scoring with her own goal from
Julia Morales (/Schaumburg) in the 24th minute. Thirty seconds later, the Hawks would score their fourth goal, with Szylke netting a hat trick on a pass from
Daniela Herrera (). Goal four for Szylke(the fifth for the Hawks) came six minutes later as she gave
Lauren Talesky () an assist in the 30th minute.
MATC would answer back in the 33rd minute as Jacqueline Molina scored an unassisted goal, but the Hawks would again find the back of the net three more times in the next 5 minutes as Talesky scored from
Alexis Orozco (/Schaumburg), while
Ayulieth Garcia (/Maine West) netted two of her own, the second from
Leslie Ocampo (). Harper would then score five more goals from the 49th to 64th minute (Szylke 48', 51', 64', Morales 59', and Herrera 62').
The Harper defense stood strong, as they only allowed a total of 9 shots (5 on goal) from the Stormers throughout the match. Goalkeeper
Jasmine Carillo () got the win with 4 saves.
Harper moves to 5-3, 4-2 N4C on the season as they prepare for their next match. The Hawks will travel to Joliet to face N4C opponent Joliet Junior College Wolves on Friday. Kick-off is scheduled for 4pm.
