Harper College lost the lead late in a 13-5 defeat to Parkland College Cobras on Saturday.  The game was tied at five with Parkland College Cobras batting in the top of the eighth when Quinton Johnston (Sarnia, ON (CA)/Great Lakes Secondary School) threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Parkland College Cobras.

The Harper College struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Parkland College Cobras, giving up 13 runs.

Harper College evened things up at five in the bottom of the seventh inning when George Betevis (Hanover Park, IL/Bartlett High School) was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Harper College notched three runs in the sixth inning.  Harper College scored its runs on an RBI double by Betevis.

Tresdon Rybarczyk got the start for Parkland College Cobras. The righty surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out five.

Jason Gutkowski (Roselle, IL/Lake Park High School) started the game for Harper College. Gutkowski went five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking zero.  Brandon West (Chicago, IL/Lake View High School), Johnston, and Stevie Churak (Fox River Grove, IL/Cary Grove High School) each contributed in relief for Harper College.

Harper College tallied six hits in the game.  Betevis and Micah O'Neal (Forest Park, IL/Guerin Prep High School) each had multiple hits for Harper College.
