Men's Soccer with First Win over Joliet

Box Score 9/19/2023 - PALATINE, IL: The Men's Soccer team played at home versus Joliet on Tuesday afternoon. It was a wet day with rain showers throughout the morning. The rain held off during the first half but the skies opened up again in the second half, as did both teams.

In the first half the scoring was quiet. With plenty of shots, only one managed to find the back of the net. Jose Caballero hit an absolute laser past Joliet's James Anderson with less than 10 minutes to play in the first half. The Hawks held off any counter attacks before halftime and started the second half up 1-0.

In the second half, the scoring opened up for both teams. During a downpour, Ramon Orozco, our recent Athlete of the Month, managed to score off of a corner kick. Not bad for our keeper that finished the game with 15 saves. Ricardo Orozco managed to score the Hawks' third goal while being assisted by Damian Jablonski, which would ultimately be the game winner.

This was the first win for the Hawks this season and Coach Gacanovic first win as the head coach with many more to come.
