Harper Volleyball lost to North Park University

9/19/23, CHICAGO, IL: Harper Volleyball battled rush-hour traffic again, went into the city, and promptly lost to North Park University JV. Harper is now 3-3 over the years playing against North Park University.

In the first set, Harper started out slow at 1-5, but then tied the score at 8-8, and 11-11, before falling behind 12-15. Harper got as close as 17-18, when Harper missed a serve and then missed another at 18-20, on the way to a 21-25 loss. Taylor Knuth led Harper with 4 kills in this set. Kaylee Obrzut led Harper with 7 digs. Eden Suh was 6-6 serving.

In the second set, Harper tied the score 2-2 on a Cana Jones service ace. The score remained close at 6-6, 12-12, 13-13, and 14-14. Harper took a slim 16-14 lead on another Jones ace. Harper led 19-16, but North Park knotted the score at 20-20, 21-21 and 22-22. Harper continued to lose the set 23-25 and fell behind 0-2 in the match. Knuth continued to shine with another 5 kills in this set. Jones led Harper with 6 digs, and was 6-6 serving with 2 aces.

In the last set, despite Harper taking a 4-1 lead, North Park tied the score at 6-6, and then took a commanding lead at 10-16 and 11-17 on the way to a 17-25 Harper loss. Knuth added another 4 kills in this final set. She finished with 13 kills and just one hitting error for the match. Jones Led Harper with another 9 digs. Obrzut added 7 more digs in this set.



Next match will be at College of DuPage on Thursday, 9/21/2023. College of DuPage is ranked #9 in the Division III poll.

Saturday, Harper College will host South Suburban at 10:00 a.m., and St. Ambrose University JV at 2:00 p.m.
