Glen Ellyn, IL: Harper lost to College of DuPage in 4 sets back at the DuPage Invitational tournament. Harper lost to College of DuPage tonight in 3 straight sets.

In the first set, it was a close battle!  There were ties at 1-1, 3-3, 4-4, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8… and then 15-15 on a Kaylee Obrzut ace. There were more ties at 16-16, and 17-17. Harper took a 19-17 on an Eden Suh hit. Score was tied up again at 19-19, 20-20 and 21-21, when Harper made 4 poor plays in a row and lost 21-25.

In the second set, Harper fell behind early 1-4, but tied the scores at 10-10, 12-12, 13-13 and 15-15. Harper fell behind 15-19, and 16-22 on the way to a 21-25 loss. 

In the last set, Harper took an early 6-2 lead, but lost that lead quickly at 7-7 and 8-8. Harper took the lead again at 12-8 and 13-9, but COD tied the score again at 13-13 and 15-15. COD took a slim 16-18 lead and rode it to the end… 20-22, 21-23, and 22-24 when Ava Belluomini's last shot went out of bounds.


Next matches: Harper plays South Suburban at 10:00 at Harper, and St. Ambrose at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, 9/23, at Harper.
