Hawks Men's Soccer Fall to Morton Panthers in Region 4 Championships

Cicero, IL: In a hard-fought battle, the Harper Hawks were eliminated from the Region 4 Championships after a 3-1 loss to the Morton Panthers in the first round. The match, filled with intensity and pivotal moments, showcased both teams' skills and determination.

Morton struck first in the 33rd minute with a goal from Eriberto Campos, who capitalized on an assist from Jules Beretta. The Hawks entered halftime trailing, but they regrouped and came out strong in the second half.


Ukyo Takahashi delivered a moment of hope for Harper in the 63rd minute, finding the back of the net to level the score off a well-timed assist from Ethan Knapp. However, the momentum shifted once again when Selmane Azibi converted a penalty kick for Morton in the 75th minute, restoring their lead. As the clock wound down, Felipe Almeida put the game out of reach for the Hawks with a decisive goal in the 87th minute, assisted by Pedro Mendez.
