Hawks Volleyball Honors Sophomores vs North Park

On Sophomore Night at Harper College, the Hawks honored their five sophomores, Abby Major, Abbie Greenberg, Jasmine Nitu, Maya Sokolowski and Kaylee Obrzut, in a hard-fought four-set battle against North Park University JV. Despite an impressive start, Harper fell short, losing 25-19, 20-25, 29-31, and 20-25.

Set 1 saw Harper pull ahead with standout plays by Lauren Ahlstedt, who led the set with 4 kills, while Phoebe Kim had a flawless serving streak (7-for-7) and delivered 3 aces, securing a 25-19 win.

In Set 2, despite tying at 19, Harper faltered at the end, with Mira Tchohadjieva leading the offense with 5 kills and 2 blocks, and Major contributing 8 digs. North Park capitalized on Harper's late errors to win 20-25.

The intense Set 3 showcased resilience from both sides, pushing into extra points. Evie Mounts was efficient with 4 kills on 6 attacks, Sokolowski added 5 kills and a block, and Taylor Coutts had 8 digs, yet Harper narrowly missed winning this set at 29-31.

Set 4 saw Harper rally but ultimately fall 20-25, with Morgan Krieter contributing 4 kills on 8 attacks. Nitu finished with a flawless serving night (19-for-19), capping her performance with an ace.
