Hawks WBB Fall to Daley Despite Competitive First Half

Palatine, IL: The Hawks women's basketball team suffered a tough 56-33 loss to the Daley Bulldogs on Thursday night. The game started as a close contest, with the Bulldogs edging out the Hawks 13-10 in the first quarter and 11-10 in the second, giving Daley a narrow 24-20 lead at halftime.

The third quarter proved pivotal as the Bulldogs found their rhythm, outscoring the Hawks 19-7. Harper struggled to keep up in the fourth quarter, adding just six points to Daley's 13, leading to the final score of 56-33.

Emma Kruvalis and Meghan Ewanio led the Hawks offensively, each contributing 8 points. Kruvalis also dominated the boards with a game-high 13 rebounds, followed by Kinsley Stillman with 12 and Gabriella Swanson with 11. Xzandria Turner showcased her versatility with four assists and five steals, helping keep the team competitive early on.

Despite the loss, the Hawks showed promise in the first half, demonstrating resilience and hustle on the glass. However, fatigue and a lack of depth—due to the absence of Taliyah Morales and Anjanae Tyree—took their toll in the second half.


The Hawks will look to bounce back next week as they take on the Elgin Spartans on Tuesday, November 19, at 5:00 PM at home.
