Hawks MBB Fall to Illinois Valley in Road Matchup

Oglesby, IL: The Harper Hawks men's basketball team couldn't overcome an early deficit, falling 68-58 to the Illinois Valley Eagles on Thursday night. Despite a valiant effort, the Hawks drop to 2-4 on the season.  

Illinois Valley controlled the tempo early, building a 36-28 lead by halftime. Harper worked to close the gap in the second half, but the Eagles maintained their composure, keeping the Hawks at bay.  

Harper saw balanced scoring from its key contributors, with Andre Anderson and Amari Northcutt leading the way with 11 points each. Luke Sinisa added 10 points in a steady performance. While the trio kept the offense alive, the Hawks struggled to find a rhythm against Illinois Valley's defensive pressure.  


Next up, the Hawks will look to bounce back as they continue their early-season schedule, playing Oakton, Daley, and Illinois Valley again the week after Thanksgiving break.
