Hawks Win Second of Double-Header

Grayslake, IL: The Hawks beat College of Lake County 5-4 in the second game of a double-header Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks scored in the first inning for the fifth game in a row with a Kyle Odeshoo single. Joseph Mrowiec homered shortly after in the bottom of the inning for CLC to even the score.

A bases loaded walk gave CLC the lead in the second, but the Hawks quickly bounced back in the top of the third. Doubles by Odeshoo and Josh Mathew plus a single by Trevor Delporte led to four runs giving the Hawks a 5-2 lead that they wouldn't give up.

Jake Sarnecke earned the win for the Hawks while Quinton Johnston earned the save. Sarnecke gave up two hits and one earned run over four and two-thirds innings striking out two along the way.

Odeshoo led the way with his bat going two for three with two RBIs and a run.



Next up for the Hawks will be a double-header at Triton on Sunday at noon.
