Hawks Go Down to Joliet

Joliet, IL: The Hawks had trouble keeping up with Joliet in a 5-11 loss on Tuesday afternoon.

Joliet got on the board first with a solo home run to right field by Mitch Thomas in the first inning. Joliet added another run in the second from a Thomas double.

In the third, Hobbs Dunne had a sacrifice ground out to extend the lead to three for Joliet.

Joliet really opened up the lead in the fourth with five runs on four hits.

The Hawks got on the board in the fifth with a sacrifice fly from Brian Jensen. Derek Costilla scored the run.

In the seventh, Samuel Del Valle hit a bases loaded single that scored Tommy Jusi and Kyle Odeshoo.

Cole Ratliff lined a double to left field that scored Alex Birt in the eighth. Later Jusi singled to right to score Ratliff.

Quinton Johnston took the loss for the Hawks. He threw three innings, surrendering five runs on five hits, striking out one and walking two.

Costilla, Jensen, Jusi, Trevor Delporte, Del Valle, Ratliff, and Luke Read, all collected one hit. Del Valle led the team with two RBIs. 




Next up for the Hawks is an away game at Moraine Valley on Thursday at 3 PM.
