Hawks Sweep Double-Header at MCC

Crystal Lake, IL: The Hawks won back-to-back games in a double-header at McHenry County College on Wednesday evening. Brianna Linnemann earned the win in the first game with the Hawks winning 4-2 while Olivia Gould earned the win in the second with a score of 8-0.

Game 1
Starting things off early was Taylor Goudschaal with a RBI single to bring in Linnemann in the first.

After the Scouts tied the game in the bottom of the inning, they took the lead 1-2 in the fifth.

Amanda Ban had a RBI single off of a bunt to score Isabella Aviles in the sixth to tie the game.

Aviles then hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield to bring home Ella Brooks to give the Hawks the lead late in the seventh. Goudschaal scored on a wild pitch two pitches later to extend the lead 4-2 for the Hawks before Linnemann finished out the game.

Linnemann went seven innings with five strikeouts.

Game 2
In the second game Ban stole the show with a double and a triple. She had two RBIs and was a home run away from the cycle. Joining her with three hits was Linnemann. 

Brooks, Cana Jones, and Kim Kolodziej all added two singles each as well.

Gould went five innings and only gave up two hits.


The Hawks play Joliet next later today.
