Hawks Drop Two at Sauk Valley

Dixon, IL: The Hawks' softball team traveled to Sauk Valley on Saturday for a double-header. In the first game the Hawks lost a close game 2-4. They lost the second game by two runs as well losing 8-10.

Game 1
The Hawks got out to an early lead in the first with a solo home run by
Amanda Ban.

The Skyhawks eventually scored two in the fourth and the Hawks tied it up in the top of the fifth with a
Ella Brooks single that scored Ashley Harrison.

The Skyhawks scored two more in the sixth though to seal the win.


Brianna Linnemann started the game and went the whole way striking out five.

Game 2

Sammy Pracko started the Hawks off with a sacrifice ground out in the second that scored Isabella Aviles.

In the next inning
Taylor Goudschaal hit a sacrifice fly to left to bring in Ban. The Hawks were down 2-3 at this point.

In the fourth inning with two outs, the Hawks went on a five run rally to take the lead 7-6.
Cana Jones hit a two run single to bring in Kim Kolodziej and Kate Peabody. Aviles doubled to bring in Linnemann, then Goudschaal singled to bring in Jones and Aviles.

The Skyhawks tied the game in the bottom of the inning on a solo home run.

The Hawks again took the lead on a
Brooks single that brought in Peabody but the Skyhawks went on a three run rally in the sixth to go up 8-10.

Olivia Gould started for the Hawks pitching three and a third innings.


The Hawks will play next today at Kankakee.
