Back-to-Back Wins for Hawks

Cicero, IL: The Hawks won their second game in a row Friday afternoon against Morton College.

The team got on the board right off the bat after scoring two runs off of errors in the first inning. Brian Jensen had a RBI single in the inning as well. Tommy Jusi, Samuel Del Valle, and Kyle Odeshoo were the ones to score.

In the second inning, the Hawks got a little cheeky with Quinton Johnston pulling off the suicide squeeze. Cole Ratliff scored and Johnston was able make it to first safely as well.

Morton tied things up at four by the third inning, but in the fourth Luke Read singled to bring home Johnston and Odeshoo. Josh Mathew was hit by the next pitch, and then Cameron King walked with the bases loaded to bring in a run to give the Hawks a 7-4 lead which they held for the win.

Odeshoo, being the sophomore leader that he is, showed a lot of moxie as he was hit by three pitches.

Mason Hulligan went six innings with five strike outs for the win. Jake Sarnecke earned his first save of the season.


The Hawks will take on Olive Harvey next.
