Hawks Volleyball Secures Road Win Against South Suburban

South Holland, IL: In Harper College's volleyball match on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Harper Volleyball secured a 3-1 victory over South Suburban College (25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-17) in an intense away game.

Set Summaries:
Set 1: A back-and-forth battle early on saw Harper and South Suburban tied several times at 3-3, 5-5, 13-13 and 16-16 before Harper pulled ahead to win 25-21.
Set 2: South Suburban came out strong, leading 4-13 and 10-20 before holding off a late Harper rally to win 21-25.
Set 3: Harper regained control, building momentum with a 15-10 lead and did not look back, sealing the set 25-19.
Set 4: Harper dominated the closing moments after ties at 17-17 and 18-18, fueled by three consecutive aces from Jasmine Nitu to secure the 25-17 win and the match.

Key Players:
Evie Mounts: The standout performer with 13 kills, 10 digs, and 3 aces, achieving a double-double.  Her clutch hitting, especially in the 3 winning sets, were crucial to the team's success.
Mira Tchohadjieva: Added 11 kills and 5 blocks, showing versatility on both offense and defense.
Phoebe Kim: Led the team with 39 assists, steering the offense with precision and hustle. Kim led Harper with 20-20 serving and added 4 of Harper's 21 aces.
